Show Me, Tell Me Questions
The official DVSA vehicle safety questions asked during the UK practical driving test. You will be asked one “tell me” question at the start and one “show me” question while driving.
How the Show Me, Tell Me Questions Work
Tell Me Questions
Asked before you start driving. The examiner will ask you to explain how you would carry out a safety check. You answer verbally — no need to physically demonstrate.
Show Me Questions
Asked while you are driving (when safe to do so). The examiner will ask you to demonstrate a vehicle control or safety feature. You must physically show them.
Scoring
Getting one or both questions wrong results in a driving fault (minor). This alone will not cause you to fail, but it does add to your total. You can have up to 15 minors and still pass.
